Climb That Mountain (Bluff) High

We took advantage of the 80-degree weather today by not only hiking six-plus miles, but we climbed to the top of the limestone bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River in the Mines of Spain State Recreation Area in Dubuque, Iowa.

It was a little scary climbing to the top , but really rewarding.

I also found the first tick of the season crawling on Ray and I killed two mosquitoes Friday night.  In addition, I hiked without a shirt and got a little bit of a burn!  Welcome to spring!

Here are a couple of awesome photos.  You’d never know it was Iowa if I hadn’t already told you.
