The cause of the Colombian prostitution scandal is now known and it’s probably not what you think. It now appears that allowing gays and lesbians to openly serve in the United States military is to blame!!!!
At least, that’s what Tony Perkins of the conservative Christian group, Family Research Council (FRC), which is considered a “hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center, said on a talk show Monday!
Perkins, speaking on the conservative radio broadcast, “The Janet Mefferd Show”, said that his staff suggested that the President should not be upset because prostitution is legal there.
However, Perkins wasn’t really ready to let them off the hook that easy and said it was all about morality, “The same is true for what the President has done to the military enforcing open homosexuality in our military. You can change the law but you can’t change the moral law that’s behind it. You can change the positive law, the law that is created by man, but you can’t change the moral law, it’s wrong.”
He went on to say, “Morality is not a smorgasbord; you can’t pick what you want. You cannot maintain moral order if you are willing to allow a few things to slide.”
Perkins and show host, Mefferd, also bashed likely Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney on his past support of gay rights, before he renounced them to earn some love from conservatives and right wingers.
Mefferd said, “You know one issue that I think has not gotten as much attention as it deserves to get is the homosexuality issue. A lot of people have talked about Mitt Romney and what he did with the gay marriage issue and so forth in Massachusetts, but even Politico and the New York Times have talked a lot about the increasing number of top Republicans who are donating to pro-gay causes, the extent to which the GOP doesn’t want to fight on this issue anymore. But we as Christians can’t stand stop fighting on this issue, Tony, so what do we do when we’re faced with a race where maybe we feel like the candidates are way too similar on this and both of them are wrong?”
Is she serious that the gay talk hasn’t gotten much publicity? Did she ever listen to former candidate Rick Santorum’s morality platform and gay bashing?
But the two finally agreed that Obama’s support of equality for gays and lesbians is far more disturbing. So, I guess the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” is the reason that three agents in the Colombian prostitution scandal have lost their jobs and eight more will learn their fate.
Damn, gays and lesbians. That’s why some conservatives say you’re the cause of “a total breakdown” in “moral order.”
