I know that I may never be a millionaire or a billionaire. I will likely never be part of the 1%, but I’m perfectly fine with that. I love my life. However, for one night, last night, we got to live like George and Weezy Jefferson. We were “movin’ on up… to a deluxe apartment in the sky.”
Last fall, when we got married, a group of co-workers (thanks Jim, Julie, Chris, and Kristy) got us a gift certificate to Stoney Creek Inn in Moline, Illinois. We decided to use it last night to celebrate Gretel’s 11th birthday (Monday) with her hoodies (friends) for a swim party with pizza, cake, and ice cream.
When we arrived, Gretel was under the impression that we were just staying in a typical hotel room. We didn’t tell her that it was the “premiere” suite. I was even shocked when we walked inside and I saw how elegant and expansive the suite was!
Our suite featured four rooms, two complete bathrooms, a veranda overlooking the Mississippi River, and a whirlpool.
I know one day when I match all six numbers, I can travel the world and have multiples estates, including a view of winter storms moving across Lake Michigan from my living room in downtown Chicago, or maybe watching the sunset on the Mississippi River from the new condos at Kone Centre in Moline.
Until then, it’s back to reality at noon today when we give up our Jefferson’s lifestyle and head home to work for the next six days.
That reminds me to stop and buy lottery tickets!

I hang out with the wrong crowd! That place looks awesome! I agree with the idea of having a high rise condo with a Lake Michigan view – and a chauffeur!

What a “suite” deal! Now that’s my idea of camping.
