It sure felt nice out there today with highs in the mid-40s in the Quad Cities (mid-50s across eastern Iowa) with the sun shining. However, some of you did see snow again today!
After the big snow melt (7″ disappeared in the Quad Cities) and more than 1.7″ of rain last weekend, many rivers and streams quickly rose out of their banks.
We were in Fort Dodge, Iowa, last weekend for Ray’s brother and sister-in-law’s 25th wedding anniversary party and for his niece’s 10th birthday party.
Before the rain Saturday and the snow Sunday (they ended up getting about 11″ of snow Sunday!), I took these pictures of the very, very low Des Moines River at Loomis Park.
As you can tell, the pictures support the river forecast that flooding won’t be an issue there anytime soon!
