They Said What??? Ryan Murphy, Miley Cryus, & Andrew Garfield

“GLEE” CREATOR RYAN MURPHY

(on offering to write “Rachel Berry” out of the hit show following the recent death of her on-screen and real-life boyfriend, Corey Monteith “Finn Hudson”):  “If Lea had said to me, ‘I could never do this again and I don’t want to do this again,’ you know, she is sort of the show, so what do you do? And I would’ve, out of respect to her as a person, said ‘OK,’ but that’s not how Lea operates; that’s not how she feels.”

MORE MURPHY

“She’s handled this with so much humanity and grace and she’s also handled this in a way where she’s trying to look out for 500 other people affected by him and who have mortgages to pay and families to feed. That was never on the table for her and I said, ‘OK.’ Nothing has been done and will be done in terms of any of the material without Lea blessing it and making sure it’s OK with her — and she has been.”

PATRIARCH KIRILL I OF MOSCOW

(head of the Russian Orthodox Church preaching to parishioners in Moscow last Sunday about marriage equality):  “This is a very dangerous sign of the apocalypse.  It means people are choosing the a path of self-destruction.”

SINGER MILEY CYRUS

(talking about Justin Bieber):  “I told Justin to take a bit of time out and people aren’t so obsessed with you and nitpick.  When you’re not around, all they want is your music. They want to see what the next thing is. But when your music is out they just want to talk shit about you.”

MORE CYRUS

“He’s still stupid though. But everyone does dumb stuff when they are messed up, and he’s done dumb stuff. If it was your friend pissing into a mop box then you would be laughing, but because it’s Justin Bieber, then it’s really bad.”

KATHERINE JACKSON

(mother of singer Michael Jackson in testimony against the “This is It” concert promoters): “They watched him waste away.  They could have called me.  He was asking me for his father. My grandson told me that his daddy was nervous and scared.”

“AMAZING SPIDER-MAN” STAR ANDREW GARFIELD

(responding to his recent comment that Spiderman could be bisexual, which caused an uproar on line with fanboys):  “It was a hypothetical kind of question about the nature of these comic book characters and the nature of this particular character, and whether sexuality, race, any of those things makes any difference to the character of Peter Parker. … What Stan Lee created is an Everyman for every man. Especially the underdog. And especially for those marginalized, for those ostracized. And who is more ostracized as young teenagers than gay young teenagers? So it was more a philosophical question about that. And I long for the day where a comment like that wouldn’t make anyone batter an eyelid.”
