Snow & More Snow

UPDATED POST:  FRIDAY, JANUARY 31, 2014, 3:48 p.m.

It’s been snowing in our far southern hometowns all day and snow totals of 1.5″-3.5″ are already being reported through mid-afternoon.

Warnings Advisories

The “Winter Weather Advisory” and the “Winter Storm Watch” from the Quad Cities eastward and southward from this morning have been upgraded to a “Winter Storm Warning” from this evening to Saturday evening.

Light snow will become widespread this evening and tonight.  By daybreak Saturday, the snow will be moderate to heavy as the storm system moves closer.

Moderate to heavy snow is expected for about 6-9 hours Saturday morning into early afternoon.  The storm will be departing the area by early evening.

Here’s another look at my projected snow totals and I see no reason to change them.

Snow Today & Tomorrow

For the snow weary, another big snow is possible Tuesday and Tuesday night!

This January, the Quad Cities is already the record book as one of the ten snowiest Januarys on record at #7.

So far, 17.7″ of snow has accumulated this month and more could be added before midnight.  However, the heavier snow will come late Friday night and Saturday.

A “Winter Weather Advisory” and a “Winter Storm Watch” covers the area and goes into effect Friday evening into Saturday evening.

Winter Storm Update

Here is how much snow I’m forecasting today, tonight, and Saturday.

Snow Today & Tomorrow

The bottom line is that I don’t mind the snow.  I just wish we could keep the bitter cold away!
