Random Friday Thoughts — August 10, 2018

Thank you for taking the time to check out my random thoughts and to see what I’m thinking about this week.

Have a great weekend!

OFFENSIVE?

“Arrow” star Stephen Amell, a longtime ally of the LGBTQ community, enjoyed Vancouver Pride last weekend and his shirt caused quite a stir.

amell.JPG

Some find the shirt offensive saying he’s not really our ally to wear it!

However, a poll about whether the shirt is offensive says otherwise!

shirt poll.JPG

What do you think???   By the way, I voted “Seriously?”

Let me know while I run to the ATM!  I know I have $20 in my checking account! 🙂

Now on to something really serious!

“CONVERSION THERAPY”

Conversion therapy is harmful and sad!

Kids that feel broken suffer even more and it doesn’t mend families, it destroys them.

Love Cure

If you’re not familiar with “conversion therapy”, it’s an ill-fated, sad program that preys on a family’s fear of their son or daughter being LGBTQ.  It claims that you can change if you have feelings for someone of the same sex.

It uses psychological, physical, and spiritual torture to make an LGBTQ child “straight”.

In the United States, before 1981, ice-pick lobotomies, chemical castration with hormones, and aversion treatments (applying electric shock to the hands and/or genitals) were used to “change” gay people.

Electric shock treatment is still used in some places today!

A couple of popular expressions in the field are “Fake it till you make it” and “Pray away the gay”.

conversion-therapy

In the United States, 12 states and the District of Columbia have outlawed conversion therapy for minors based on sexual orientation and gender identity of expression.  Those states are California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington.

Maryland (October 1, 2018) and New Hampshire (January 1, 2019) will soon be added to the list.

There are many other counties, municipalities, and communities in the U.S. that outlaw conversion therapy for minors, even though it’s not recognized on the state level in those states.

As of this summer, there are bills to ban conversion therapy on minors that have been introduced or are pending in Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Puerto Rico.

MICHELE & MARCUS BACHMANN

Minnesota’s own former Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, who has a record of being very anti-LGBTQ, has a skeleton in her closet when it comes to “conversion therapy” or “reparative therapy”.

Bachmann

The procedure was notably performed at Bachmann & Associates, a Christian therapy clinic started by Bachmann’s husband, Marcus, based in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.

Marcus Bachmann

Ironic that I used the word “closet” when discussing the Bachmanns because of the “rumors”!

“BOY ERASED”

Two movies dealing with conversion therapy are coming out this year.

“Boy Erased”, based on the 2016 memoir of Garrard Conley, an Arkansas teenager outed in college to his fundamentalist parents.  His choice — be disowned or gay conversion therapy.

After seeing this powerful trailer, I’m convinced “Boy Erased” will be a strong Oscar contender.  It stars Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe and Oscar nominee Lucas Hedges.

I love Kidman and I’ve been a huge fan of 21-year-old Hedges since “Manchester By The Sea” and he was great in “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”.

It also stars out pop star Troye Sivan.

“Boy Erased” hits theaters November 2, 2018.

“THE MISEDUCATION OF CAMERON POST”

The other “gay conversion” movie, The Miseducation of Cameron Post” starring Chloe Grace Moretz, debuted last weekend, in very limited release.

In just two theaters, it had an incredible box average of $26,500!

Chloe is a great actress and I can’t wait to see her stunning performance.

“MADAM SECRETARY”

As the fourth season ended in May, it was bittersweet.  I smiled, but I wanted to cry.

Madam Secretary Elizabeth McCord tells her husband Henry, that she wants to run for president.

He replies, “I’m with you!”

Capture.JPG

MORE “MADAM SECRETARY” (BIG GUEST STARS!)

When the fifth season of kicks off Sunday, October 7th on CBS, the shows will have some heavy hitters making guest star appearances.

ms.JPG

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Colin Powell, and Madeleine Albright will star.

This will be Albright’s second appearance on the show.  She guest starred in 2015.

P.S.  In 45’s revolving door of cabinet and staff, whoever is Secretary of State was probably not invited. 🙂

THEY SAID WHAT — ABOUT 45???

Madonna (to “Vogue Italia”):  “I felt like we needed a change, and I wanted to get out of America for a minute ― as you know, this is not America’s finest hour.”\

Hollywood show runner Ryan Murphy (on having a 1980s version of “that man” on his FX hit series “Pose” and then scrapping the idea):  “I just don’t want to see him. I do not want to see that face, didn’t want to hear that voice, didn’t want that presence to pollute something very pure and beautiful. We almost never say his name, it’s a Pavlovian cringe at this point. I think it was a right decision.”

Republican South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham:

“WHO IS AMERICA”

If you haven’t seen this Sacha Baron Cohen and Showtime series, you’re missing out on mind-boggling reality television!

I call it reality because, sadly, it shows how really f***ed up some are in this country!

The blatant racism is sad to watch and the things people say or do to show their blind love for 45 is just incredible.

After his ignorant and racist appearance on the show, Republican Georgia lawmaker Jason Spencer resigned his position.

Here’s what I tweeted to Cohen and Showtime about the show.

Who is.JPG

Cohen also duped former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.  It’s unknown if that segment will air or not!

RETURN DATES ON MY FAVORITE SHOWS

Now that “Pose”, “Dietland”, “Claws”, and “Sharp Objects” are done or winding down and “The Sinner” is just getting started, I can’t wait for my next round of favorite series to return this fall.

Here are the return dates on those:

September 12 — “American Horror Story: Apocalypse” (FX)

ahs

The first trailer came out earlier this week!

September 23 & 24 — “9-1-1” (FOX) (2-night premiere)

September 24 — “The Good Doctor” (ABC)

September 27 — “How To Get Away With Murder” (ABC)

October 7 — “Madam Secretary’ (CBS)

November 2 — “House of Cards” (Netflix)

HOC.JPG

Still no date on the return of season 4 of “Mr. Robot” (USA).

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

90s NOSTALGIA

In the late-1980s and 1990s (and beyond), I was obsessed with Taylor Dayne and her music.

I’ve seen her in concert twice (and almost a third time, but we won’t talk about that).

My favorite album is still “Can’t Fight Fate” from 1989.

That album produced Taylor’s only #1 Billboard Hot 100 hit, “Love Will Lead You Back”, and two more Top Five hits, “I’ll Be Your Shelter”, and this one, the album’s lead single, “With Every Beat of My Heart”.

This is such a stunning and sexy video!

“Heart of Stone”, the fourth single, peaked at #12 on the Hot 100.

THAT’S IT

With all the craziness in the world, make it the best in your little part of it!

Random Friday Thoughts — October 20, 2017

I’m done celebrating my birthday and my sister is now back to real life in Midwest.  It was a nice visit.  Now, we just need to plan our next get together!

Random Thoughts

I hope this week’s “Random Friday Thoughts” comes across a little happier.  Last week, I had some things I needed to get off my chest.  If you didn’t get a chance to read it, here’s that link again.  It’ll open in a new window. 🙂

https://anthonypeoples.wordpress.com/2017/10/13/random-friday-thoughts-october-13-2017/

BACK TO REALITY

I had my first company in Panama City, Florida, over the past week with my sister, Tammy, and her boyfriend, Gerald, visiting.

It was great going out to eat (Granny Cantrell’s country cooking was amazing and Captain D’s fish was delicious and not as greasy as I remembered back in Kentucky), hanging out and talking, and hitting Panama City Beach for the first time!

ATG

Tammy got back to the Midwest just in time.  Her twin grandsons arrived a week early and were born Thursday morning!

GIRLFRIEND, THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMM!

Tutti Frutti Little Richard…

LR 2

Oops, let me start over.

“Tutti Frutti” singer Little Richard in the 1980s told “Penthouse”, “I’ve been gay all my life and I know God is a God of love, not of hate.”

Well, I guess he “prayed the gay away” (note the quotation marks that screams of sarcasm).

LR 1

The 84-year-old now tells a Christian broadcasting show that homosexuality is “unnatural”.

Little Richard states, “When I first come in show business they wanted you to look like everybody but yourself.  He added, “And, anybody that comes in show business they going say you’re gay… God made men, men and women, women, you know.”

Yeah, we know!

Hmmmm

WINTER FORECAST

As a meteorologist in the Midwest, I always had people asking me, “what’s this winter going to be like?”  It was one of my least favorite questions.

I don’t believe in long-term forecasting and I think the forecasts from the “almanacs”, Accuweather, the Weather Channel, etc. are fun to look at it.  But, I don’t put any faith in them.

For example, look at the highlights here from Accuweather for this winter.

AccuWeather Winter

Unless this is a very bizarre winter, “Arctic Cold Blasts” in the Dakotas and the Midwest, “Snow, Ice” in the Great Lakes and the Northeast, “Warm, Dry” in the Southwest, “Rain” in the Southeast, and “Warm At Times” in Florida?

Seriously?  With those generalities, I can tell you now that Accuweather will be 100% accurate and you don’t need a meteorologist to forecast that for you.

Next!

HAMILTON TAKES ON #45 OVER PUERTO RICO

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the brains behind the successful “Hamilton” doesn’t like #45’s handling of the crisis in Puerto Rico.  Well, he’s not alone.

While Miranda was born in upper Manhattan, he is of Puerto Rican descent.

I’m sure by now, you’ve heard about this bold tweet.

Lin DT

He composed a new charity recording for Puerto Rico with some of the biggest stars in Latin music including Jennifer Lopez and Gloria Estefan.

“Almost Like Praying” sold 111,000 digital downloads in its first week and debuted at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

At this time, three million people (about 80%) still have no electricity and a million are without running water in Puerto Rico and Hurricane Maria hit a month ago!

OH, ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY! 🙂

In the October 20/27 double issue’s “What to Watch” section, this is what it said of the new episode of “Scandal”:

“POTUS Mellie preps for the nuclear summit.  Any joke we make would hit too close to home, assuming there is a home by the time you’re reading this.”

T NK

“FEAR THE WALKING DEAD”/”THE WALKING DEAD”

I know I swore off “The Walking Dead” after the dismal seventh season, but I’ve decided to give it a few episodes in season 8 before I abandon it.

As for its spin off, “Fear The Walking Dead”, the third season just wrapped up a great installment.

If you gave it up on after the slow-burning first season or the hit and miss second season, give it another try.  The third season was strong and the second half of the season was incredible.

FTWD Christmas

And, I finally got a “Dead” Christmas and it was twisted and insane!

ANTICIPATION FOR “THE SNOWMAN” MELTED AWAY

Ever since I read Jo Nesbo’s “The Snowman” and it was announced that my future ex-boyfriend Michael Fassbender would star in the movie, I was very excited.

the-snowman

Last week, Norwegian reviews started coming in and they were not encouraging.  American movie critics are echoing those sentiments.

snowman

My blizzard of anticipation melted away faster than several feet on Rocky Mountain snow with a Chinook wind!

I’ll now wait for “The Snowman” on DVD! 😦

“REBEL HEART TOUR DVD”

This new concert DVD is from Madonna’s last international tour supporting her 13th studio album, “Rebel Heart”.

I saw the show in October 2015 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, my fourth Madonna concert.  (I saw the “Confessions Tour” (2006) and the “Sticky & Sweet Tour” (2008) in Chicago and “The MDNA Tour” in Las Vegas (2012).

After the angry, dark, and fantastic “The MDNA Tour”, this one was fun and personable.  However, Madonna still delivered a strong message, including this opening sequence before she opens the show with “Iconic”.

“FIVE FOOT TWO”

This new Netflix series chronicles Lady Gaga’s making of her latest album, “Joanne”.

It also shows us the behind the scenes pain (fibromyalgia) that Lady Gaga experienced leading to the postponement of the European leg of the “Joanne Tour”.

What I liked about the show was her honesty about the beef Madonna has with her and calling Gaga “reductive”.

And, then there was this zinger that “Entertainment Weekly” featured in its soundbite of the week segment. 🙂

Gaga Madonna EW

“Bad Romance” is still one of my favorite Lady Gaga songs and this stripped down live version is incredible.

Here’s the original and its amazing video.

In the documentary, Gaga is distraught over the “Joanne” album.  For her, it’s very personal and she’s afraid the change in musical style for the collection would not be something her fans would embrace.

Sadly, that turned out to be the case.  It was her least successful album in terms of album sales and radio airplay.

And, as much as I love Lady Gaga, I was part of that resistance.  “Joanne” was the first Lady Gaga album I didn’t buy and after seeing “Five Foot Two”, I still didn’t want the album.  But, I do love “A Million Reasons” and “The Cure”.

GRADE:  B

“STRANGER THINGS”

Now that the second season of the Netflix hit series is set to premiere next Friday (October 27), I need to binge watch the award winning and critically acclaimed smash.

I know many of you were blown away by the series last summer, so I don’t want to spoil things for newbies like me by showing the season 2 trailer.

I learned enough spoilers by reading the “Entertainment Weekly” article on the show’s return.

Psyche!

For those that have already seen the first season, here’s the second season trailer.  FYI, I didn’t watch it. 🙂

2017 CHRISTMAS STAMPS

Christmas is now just about two months away and it’s time to start addressing my cards. 🙂

Here are the new stamps this season.

Stamps 1

Stamps 2

Which ones would you choose?

PICK HIT

EDM (electronic dance music) producer and DJ Marshmello, who’s identity is unknown (but may be American DJ Christian Comstock), has scored seven hits in the U.S. on the Billboard Dance charts since 2015.

Two have reached the Top Ten.  “Alone” reached #9 in 2016 and his current hit featuring Khalid, “Silence” is currently climbing the Top Ten on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.  It’s also #45 on the Mediabase Top 40 airplay chart.

“Silence” already topped the Australian Dance chart and hit the Top 5 in Belgium, Norway, Sweden, and on the UK Dance chart.

THAT’S IT

With all the craziness in the world, make it the best in your little part of it!

My Old Feathers Are Ruffled

Hey old people out there, what kind of music do you listen to?  Do you still listen to your music on the radio because you’re afraid to touch a computer?

elderly-people-on-computer

Are you afraid of buying music online and burning it to a disc?

If you’re over the age of 29, have you moved beyond Lady Gaga’s cutting edge pop, rhythmic, and dance music and embraced “Cheek To Cheek”, her collaboration with 89-year-old Tony Bennett?

Tony_Bennett_and_Lady_Gaga_-_Cheek_to_Cheek

Actually, I’m just kidding with you to see if those comments ticked you off as much as radio music programmers in many genres, especially Top 40 and country, tick me off because of the way they treat people that are not teenagers or in their 20s.

They think only the young ones will carelessly throw away money and downloads songs freely.  That may be true.  However, we older people will buy music when good music comes our way.

It’s a proven fact that without radio airplay, only die hard fans will know about an artist’s new music.  And, the other edge of that sword is that crappy music, if played thousands of times a week on the radio with the same 20 redundant songs, will sell millions of copies and hit #1.  (Hello, Omi’s “Cheerleader”!)

This isn’t the first time I’ve talked about ageism.  I’ve talked about how country music has basically shunned new music from every queen that’s dominated that genre’s chart — Loretta, Tammy, Dolly, Patty Loveless, Pam Tillis, Lorrie Morgan, Trisha Yearwood, and now Reba.

Reba Love Somebody

Last spring, Reba released her latest album, “Love Somebody” and it topped the country chart for two weeks.  However, the first single, “Going Out Like That” barely cracked the Top 25 and the second single was pretty much DOA.

Madonna Rebel Heart

The same for Madonna.  Her “Rebel Heart” album came out last spring, too, and only one single reached the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #84, although three singles topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.

Who wants to hear women in their late-50s sing amazing music, 30-plus years into their career, when Top 40 radio force-feeds us substandard music from Ariana Grande (“Focus”, I’m talking about you, since I love Ariana’s previous hits!)

So, what has ruffled my 51-year-old feathers today?

I just bought Adele “25” and Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” and both albums are amazing.  And, both artists are in their 20s.

A couple of months ago, I bought Janet Jackson’s “Unbreakable” album, her first new album in seven years.

JanetJackson_Standard-2

I saw her in concert in Omaha, Nebraska, in late October and the show was incredible and she was flawless.

The first single from the album, “No Sleeep”, peaked at #63 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #18 on the “Hot R&B/Hip Hop” chart.

However, it’s currently at #1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B chart, where it’s been for nine weeks — her longest running #1 song on that chart.

20151030_204005

But, wait, her chart dominance doesn’t end there.  The second single and the album track, “Unbreakable” is currently at #9 (after peaking at #8). So, that means that Janet has two songs currently in the Top Ten on the Urban R&B chart, but the 49-year-old has no place at mainstream Top 40 radio!

“Adult Contemporary” is a very bad term and no singer that has dominated the music world for decades should be relegated to that place on the radio.

It shouldn’t have to be a consolation prize for musicians and listeners of certain age.

Here’s a more complete definition, “AC radio may play mainstream music, but they will exclude hip hop, dance tracks, hard rock, and some forms of teen pop, as they are less popular amongst the target demographic of these radio stations, which is intended for an adult audience. The AC Radio stations will often target the 25–44 age group, the demographic that has received the most attention from advertisers since the 1960s.”

My philosophy is a song should get radio airplay if it’s good music, regardless of the artist’s age, gender, race, religion, or whatever label you want to add.

Case in point, listen to “Burnitup”, my favorite track from Janet’s new album featuring Missy Elliot, and tell me this couldn’t be popular on today’s radio if radio didn’t have closed ears, closed minds, and open wallets catering to a certain demo.

Also, Madonna’s “Ghosttown”, critically acclaimed as some of her best work ever, topped the Billboard Dance Club Song chart earlier this year and reached #18 on the Adult Contemporary chart, but it found no love at Top 40 radio.

And, at country radio, Reba’s music is as fresh today as it was back in the 1980s and 1990s when she dominated country music and those playing her songs cashed in on the millions.

I love all kinds of music — teen pop to dance to mainstream rap to jazz, whatever — if it’s good (or I think it’s good), I’ll give it a listen.

But, I think it’s sad that people of certain age don’t have a fair chance of having their latest songs heard by the masses because they aren’t youngsters.

Radio, open your heart and open your ears.

Remember, “Believe”, the song that hit #1 in 23 countries, including the United States.  It was biggest song of 1999 here in America and became the biggest hit of Cher’s career.

She was 52-years-old, at the time, and holds the record for being the oldest female to top the Hot 100 chart.

It’s almost 2016 radio programmers, leave age out of it and play great music regardless of the singer’s age.

Adele Will Save Christmas & The Music Industry

UPDATED POST:  Monday, November 2, 2015

It was a week ago today that I posted this blog on how Adele will make Christmas brighter for the music industry.  You can read that below.

The first week numbers are out and it validates my theory!

“Hello”, the first release from “25”, debuts at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.  It becomes only the 24th song in music history to top the chart in its first week.  The last song to accomplish that was Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” on September 6, 2014.

“Hello” becomes Adele’s fourth Hot 100 number one songs.  (More on that below).

It’s a record-setting week for Adele.

In just the first week, “Hello” was downloaded a record 1,112,000 times!  It becomes the first song ever to be downloaded over a million times in a week.

The previous leader was “Right Round” by Flo Rida with Ke$ha.  That song, in February 2009, was downloaded 636,000 times.

The list of accomplishments will continue to grow throughout November with more radio airplay, video views, and the release of “25”.

And, to think, Adele told syndicated morning radio host Elvis Duran on October 23rd just hours after “Hello” was released, “I was so frightened that no one cared.”

As if!

ORIGINAL POST:  Monday, October 26, 2015

We’re heading into the holiday shopping season and are you ready for the biggest album release since last October’s “1989” by Taylor Swift, which has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide?

Taylor_Swift_-_1989

Adele rocked the music industry last week and made fans and retailers very happy when she announced that her third album “25” would come out November 20th.

adele

Since Friday’s commercial radio release of “Hello”, it’s been played more than 2,000 times at Top 40 radio stations and the video has been viewed more than 70 million times!

We last heard Adele when she reached the Top Ten with the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, and Grammy-winning theme song to the James Bond film, “Skyfall” in early 2013.

Adele-21

Adele’s last album, “21”, which was released in early 2011 has already sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and spent 24 weeks at #1 on the Billboard album charts.

It also produced three #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, “Rolling in the Deep”, “Someone Like You”, and “Set Fire to the Rain”.

That album also sparked interest in her 2008 debut, “19”, which has now sold seven million copies around the world.

Christmas 2014

Not only will “25” be the biggest selling album of the Christmas season, it’s also spiking sales of her first two albums.

This morning on amazon.com’s list of Best Selling albums, “25” is at #1, “21” has jumped to #5, the vinyl copy of “25” is #9, and “19” is back up to #22.

Christmas cheers to Adele for saving the music industry.  Taylor Swift shouldn’t have to do all the work.

“Motion” By Calvin Harris Gets Better With Each Listen

When I make haste decisions and I’m wrong, I fess up!  At the end of 2014, I ranked Calvin Harris’ new CD, “Motion”, as my 14th favorite album of the year.

However, I did the 31-year-old Scottish singer and record producer a huge disservice and I felt I had to let you know that the album, on recent listens, should have placed much higher in my 2014 year-end countdown.

So, I’m writing this blog today about the album, so more people become aware of how fantastic it is.

Calvin_Harris_2012

Calvin Harris is still becoming a household name in the United States.

However, in the dance club world, he’s a hit-making God. “Forbes” magazine reports that he’s the highest-paid DJ of 2013 and 2014 and he’ll likely make 2015 a three-peat.

I bought my first Calvin Harris CD, “18 Months”, in the fall of 2012, and it quickly became one of my favorite CDs.  It ended up being my third favorite album of 2012.

CalvinHarris18Months

Here in  America, people know the inescapable worldwide smash, “We Found Love” featuring Rihanna that spent ten weeks at  number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

However, the album also featured “Feels So Close”, which Harris sang lead vocals on.  It reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Along, with the aforementioned Rihanna song and “Feels So Close”, “Let’s Go” featuring Ne-Yo ,”I Need Your Love” with Ellie Goulding, and “Sweet Nothing” with Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine, also became huge radio hits in America and each of those songs reached the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In all, ten of the album’s fifteen songs charted on the official U.K. singles chart with nine of them reaching the Top Ten.

That put Calvin ahead of Michael Jackson in U.K. music history with the most Top Ten singles from one studio album.

MOTION CALVIN HARRIS

After ten international hits from “18 Months”, Calvin followed it up two years later with “Motion” on Halloween 2014.

It’s a superb album and sadly, with me getting caught up in the holidays, vacations, and real life, I failed to give it a fair shake in my countdown of my favorite albums of 2014.

The album is already on its sixth hit in the U.K. with the first three, “Under Control” (with Alesso and Hurts), “Summer” (with Calvin on vocals), and “Blame” (John Newman on vocals), all topping the chart.

Here in the U.S., “Summer” reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and “Blame” reached #19.

“Outside” featuring Ellie Goulding is currently one of the ten most played songs on American Top 40 radio now.

“Pray To God” featuring the Haim, an American rock group made up of three sisters, is currently one of the hottest songs in U.S. dance clubs and I hope Top 40 radio welcomes the song after “Outside” starts its move down the chart.

Two more favorites of mine are “Open Wide” featuring Big Sean (WARNING: the lyrics are adult in nature – NFSW) and “Dollar Signs” featuring Tinashe.

Calvin Harris

Outside of the hits, “Faith” and “Love Now” are perfect pop songs and “Slow Acid” is instrumental bliss, just as “Awooga” was on “18 Months”.

Harris keeps the beats pulsing on “It Was You”, “Overdrive”, and “Burnin”

And, there’s also an incredible ballad, “Ecstasy” featuring Hurts, who also sings on the first release, “Under Control”.

And, just as Florence Welch and Ellie Goulding did on “18 Hours”, Harris provides star power on “Motion” with Gwen Stefani on “Together”.

MOTION CALVIN HARRIS

Now that I’ve listened to “Motion” on what seems like repeat lately, it’s definitely one of my favorite albums of 2014.  It’s not too late to check it out and make it a part of your collection.

And, if club music and dance beats aren’t your thing, there’s something else that Calvin Harris works very hard on  — his body!  That’s why he’s a model for Armani.
